During the General Annual meeting it was noticeable that the members of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein e.V. (ALRV) are eagerly looking forward to this year’s major event, just 45 days before the World Equestrian Festival begins. First-class sport and Spain as the partner country are once again in 2025 promising precisely the sort of CHIO Aachen that not only the athletes and visitors love, but also Stefanie Peters, President of the ALRV: “Experience top sport, meet people, shop, wine and dine – yes, simply spend a wonderful time full of unforgettable, goosebump moments. That is the unique combination that distinguishes our CHIO Aachen.”

Paying homage to the partner country and the eternal summer: The “Horse & Symphony” concert under the motto “Summer in the city” offers a spectacular show to kick off the CHIO Aachen 2025. Also on board: Lisa and Matthes Röckener, the Royal Córdoba Ecuestre Riding School and of course the Aachen Symphony Orchestra.

Hardly any other artist is more readily associated with summer and high spirits than Alvaro Soler. And hardly any other pop star is more suitable for this year’s partner country, Spain, than the 34-year-old. On the evening of July 1st, Alvaro Soler will transform the Main Stadium into a huge fiesta with his world hits during the Opening Ceremony of the CHIO Aachen 2025. Special highlight: As an extra treat for the spectators on-site, the Spanish singer, who is continually in the German play lists with his songs, will give a few encores after the official part of the agenda. We spoke to him about what the visitors can expect from his appearance, how much he is looking forward to it and what his points of contact with horses have been so far.

This prize places the focus on those people, who are otherwise always found standing behind the camera: The renowned photographer’s prize, the “Silver Camera”, is presented during the World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen 2025.

When Isabell Werth talks about defining moments in her life, there are of course the many successes and medals as well as unique records at championships and Olympic Games. However, there are also times that have presented the dressage queen with great challenges or have pulled the rug from under her feet for a short time - for example the call from unscrupulous telephone fraudsters. When the stars of the scene compete at the Aachen Soers in 2025, they will be battling it out to claim the victory in the UBS-Cup. The major Swiss bank is namely the new partner of the CHIO Aachen.

As a living legend in dressage, she has experienced almost everything – great successes, but also various setbacks. In the sixth episode of the CHIO Aachen podcast, Isabell Werth talks about what motivates her to achieve top performances, what food she can't say no to and how she deals with debates about equestrian sports: “Not everyone has to love our sport. We also need critics, but I always want to see a fair discussion and not false activism.”
